I want to spit out all the information that I have regarding this food.
I can't remember when I actually started eating sunflower seeds in an abundance. My earliest recollection of sunflower seeds was eating them every so often when they were available at a party. There were kinds that tasted bland and bad but there were also kinds that tasted good and had flavor. I couldn't tell the difference between the two until years later.
Now I know that you can tell whether or not it has a flavor from the bag it's stored in. If it's red or green then that's good, it tastes good. If it's a more, how do i say this, sluggish green, it has no flavor. It's like light green, but it's not. My parents both like the bland one better. I asked them why and they told me it's because after a while the flavorful one starts tasting bad because it's so sour. I've single- handedly taken down a few red and green sunflower seed bags, and I have never thought of it as bad. The only bad thing that has come from sunflower seeds is the sty that I have. I definitely remember talking about this in an earlier blog, so you probably know what sty is. I got it because I ate sunflower seeds then didn't wash my hands and rubbed my eye. This along with general bad hygiene resulted in two bumps on my eyes. They were supposed to disappear by themselves 3-4 days after they appeared, but it's been two months and I still have them.
Even after knowing that I got sty from sunflower seeds, I still eat it. Of course now I know not to rub anything in my eyes. The hands that touch sunflower seeds won't touch my eyes til they have been washed.
Thanks for reading!
