Some interesting stuff has happened recently. Mainly one.
There's a teen in Kenosha, Wisconsin. More accurately, he drove to Kenosha Wisconsin, then proceeded to shoot and kill two BLM protesters. Here's what happened, based on what I know. He drove over from his house with an assault rifle. He was treated as a friend by police and was given water, probably because he was one of the few who actually supported them there. They saw him with an assault rifle.
He then killed two people. The police of course heard this, but didn't act on it. He then walked back into his car and drove home.
Now he's facing charges and a ton of backlash. I know this will also impact his college. What I just don't know is how people are supporting someone like this. His name is Kyle Rittenhouse. He wasn't even defending himself. He doesn't live there. He drove in from his own house to Kenosha and shot two people. Tucker Carlson and Steven Crowder have actively defended him. Carlson even said something along the lines of "If the authorities in a city won't show up, then why are you surprised when a teenager does it?"
This isn't him joking. He seriously believes it, or at least wants his viewers to believe it.
He is justifying a minor coming into a city and shooting up two people then leaving. He says that kid shouldn't be punished, even though he committed homicide.
This is even more ridiculous than other things that right winged people have said. About a week ago, a man named Jacob Blake was shot in the back 7 times. Why? Because he was resisting arrest.
Steven Crowder has tried to defend the actions of the police by saying that Blake was a convicted felon. Does that make him lose his right to live? He might've been a bad person, but the police shouldn't have shot him 7 times, or at all.
Every time a right side activist tries to justify a bad action, they always look past the actual problem.
With Kyle Rittenhouse:
The problem: he shot two protesters
The right side response: he shot them in self defense/he stepped up in place of authorities (police)
With Jacob Blake:
The problem: he was shot 7 times in the back for only resisting arrest
The right side response: he was a bad man.
Thank you for reading.
I really wish I could have an opportunity to talk to one of these right activists. What would probably happen is they would shut me down and not let me talk at all, and then explain to their viewers that I'm an extreme liberal, even though I am a leaning conservative. But me being a high schooler and all, that most likely won't happen, unfortunately.
